A Ukrainian innovation in the field of living tissue welding, developed based on research by the Paton Institute, is yielding impressive results, outperforming traditional laser methods. It significantly reduces blood loss, shortens surgery times, and speeds up the patient recovery process. Over the past eight years, endovenous electrocoagulation technology has demonstrated a 100% success rate in vein closure, according to vascular surgeon Vladislav Gorbovets in his interview with Glavkom.
An innovative approach to treatment
Vladislav Gorbovets adapted metal welding technology from the Paton Institute for medical purposes to create a method for treating varicose veins. The first large-scale trials of the Ukrainian technology were conducted in the ATO zone. The surgeon noted that the use of a live tissue welding device allowed for the improvement of surgical algorithms compared to laser treatment. “Our results are impressive: the vein closes in 100% of cases, whereas laser coagulation achieves only 90–92% success,” Gorbovets emphasized.
Safety and Self-Sufficiency
According to Vladislav Gorbovets, the Ukrainian technology is characterized by a high level of safety, which reduces the number of potential complications compared to laser coagulation. All devices, instruments, and materials are manufactured in Ukraine, making this technology independent of external suppliers.
