Fighters from the Lasar’s Group unit of the Ukrainian National Guard set a new record by shooting down a Russian ZALA Z-20 drone at an altitude of 6,400 meters.
National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko shared this news on Facebook, where he also posted a video of the operation.
In late July, in southern Ukraine, the crew of an interceptor aircraft spotted an enemy drone designed for aerial reconnaissance at a distance of over 100 kilometers. The enemy drone attempted to evade destruction by climbing to an altitude of 6,400 meters, but the Ukrainian pilot reached the target and destroyed it.
Pivnenko noted that this incident demonstrates the high level of training among National Guard personnel and the effectiveness of modern drone technology.
Earlier, special forces from the National Guard’s 5th Separate “Omega” Detachment destroyed Russian military equipment in occupied Lysychansk.
