The drones struck the plant, located 1,500 km from Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a new attack on facilities at the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Perm, striking a key crude oil processing unit. The incident occurred as a result of drone operations by the SBU’s “Alpha” Special Operations Center for the second day in a row.
The plant, located more than 1,500 km from Ukraine, is one of the largest in Russia with a capacity of about 13 million tons per year and supplies fuel to both the civilian sector and the Russian army.
Damage to the AVT-4 unit
Preliminary information indicates that the AVT-4 unit, a key component of the primary oil refining process, was hit. The vacuum and atmospheric distillation columns, which were damaged by the explosions, were engulfed in flames, rendering the unit inoperable.
Repeated strike on the production station
In addition, the SBU again attacked the "Perm" production and dispatch station, which supplies oil to the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery. Following the drone attack, new fire outbreaks occurred there.
"The enemy must realize a simple truth: it no longer has a 'safe rear.' Distance no longer guarantees protection—any region where enterprises are working for the war effort can become a target," the SBU statement reads.
