The English soccer club "Manchester City" has been found guilty of violating financial regulations, according to a ruling by an independent commission. According to The Athletic, the club was found guilty on 114 of 115 charges related to financial violations within the English Premier League.
Manchester City is expected to appeal the decision, but official sanctions have not yet been determined. The charges relate to violations of financial fair play rules between 2009 and 2018; specifically, the club may have provided false financial information, including data on coach Roberto Mancini’s salary and player bonuses.
Additionally, City refused to cooperate with the investigation by failing to provide documents regarding its financial activities dating back to the 2018–19 season. The club denied all charges, and the hearings in the case concluded in December 2024.
