The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine is conducting an investigation into a business trip abroad by former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. This was reported by Mariana Gayovska, spokesperson for the Office of the Prosecutor General.
On September 22, Acting Prosecutor General Anton Kovalsky ordered an internal investigation to verify compliance with the procedures for arranging and conducting the business trip, as well as the circumstances that may have led to potential violations.
As Gayovska noted, the prosecutor’s office will take appropriate action based on the results of the investigation. Earlier, media outlets reported that in September, Kravchenko received a salary of approximately 340,000 hryvnias, which was due to compensation for 64 days of unused vacation time.
On the morning of September 14, Kravchenko announced that he had placed NABU Director Semen Kryvonos under suspicion, accusing him of forging documents to receive a bribe. Afterward, the prosecutor’s office learned that the former prosecutor general had left the country, citing a training trip.
The gravity of the situation is escalating, as Kravchenko has registered his residence in Vienna. The choice of this country is symbolic, as Austria does not extradite individuals suspected of committing crimes in Ukraine. Indications of Kravchenko’s possible involvement in organized crime cannot be ruled out.
