A square in honor of Andriy Parubiy will appear in Lviv

A square named after Hero of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy will be established in the heart of Lviv. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi announced this on his Telegram channel, noting that the decision was made at a plenary session of the Lviv City Council.

“During the city council session, we decided to rename a section of Vynnychenko Street—from Prosvita to Lychakivska. Now the monument to Vyacheslav Chornovil, the building of the regional administration, and the regional council, where Andriy Parubiy served as a deputy for several terms, will be located on Hero of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy Square,” the mayor said.

It should be noted that on April 28, the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, called on city authorities to honor Andriy Parubiy by naming one of Lviv’s streets after him.

“Recently, the Kyiv City Council passed a resolution to name a street near Mariinsky Park in honor of Andriy Parubiy. This is fair, but it is logical to ask: why hasn’t Lviv, Parubiy’s hometown, done this yet? Last year, Father Yustin Boyko raised the issue of renaming Vynnychenko Street,” Kozytskyi noted.

Kozytskyi expressed support for this initiative and appealed to his colleagues on the Lviv City Council to heed the voice of the community.
