Ukrainian strikes on Russia are increasing: new data from ISW

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has released new data showing an increase in the number of Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory, which are becoming more frequent and reaching farther distances. According to RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainian drones continue to extend the range of their operations.

Strikes Deep into Enemy Rear Areas

The Russian opposition outlet Meduza, citing the GeoConfirmed project, analyzed the coordinates of Ukrainian strikes on Russian military equipment and logistics. The results showed that in May and June 2026, the average depth of the attacks increased significantly. Whereas targets were previously struck a few kilometers from the front lines, they are now located tens of kilometers deep behind enemy lines.

Hundreds of Attacks on Russian Logistics

French OSINT analyst Clément Molin, using video footage, confirmed at least 500 strikes by Ukrainian forces on Russian trucks and vehicles between May 1 and June 18. Geolocation data confirms 270 such strikes since the beginning of 2026. In May, Ukrainian forces actively attacked the rear areas of the Russian group in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors, particularly sections of the M-14 Rostov-Crimea highway.

In June, according to Meduza, the intensity of attacks in these areas decreased, but the focus shifted to Crimea and the Kherson region.
