On September 27, the Russian army launched two rocket drone strikes on a data center in Kyiv, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Three people were injured in the first attack, two of whom were minors.
According to the press service of the telecommunications operator Kyivstar, their headquarters in the capital was damaged during the attacks. Company employees were in shelters at the time and, fortunately, were not harmed. Experts are now assessing the extent of the damage.
On the eve of this attack, Russian troops also destroyed the Cosmonova data center, which led to a loss of signal for a number of Ukrainian television channels. These strikes target the country’s critical infrastructure, which has serious consequences for communications and access to information resources.
Data centers that are subject to such attacks are large complexes containing servers and network equipment through which websites and internet service providers operate. As a result of the attacks, users may experience problems with home internet, unstable connections, and the unavailability of certain websites and online services.
