A new wave of protests has swept the U.S. under the slogan “No Kings,” directed against Donald Trump’s policies. Demonstrators protested military action in Iran, strict immigration measures, and the rising cost of living.
According to RBC-Ukraine, citing the BBC, the protest organizers stated that they oppose Trump’s attempts to rule the country “like a tyrant.” “Trump wants to rule like a tyrant, but America belongs to the people, not to self-proclaimed kings,” the organizers emphasized.
The White House responded to the protests, calling them “therapy sessions for Trump-induced disorder,” adding that these actions are important only to journalists.
Where did the protests take place?
Demonstrations took place in most major U.S. cities, including New York, Washington, and Los Angeles. In the capital, protesters flooded the central streets, gathering on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and on the National Mall.
As before, participants brought effigies of Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other administration officials, thereby expressing their disagreement with the government’s policies.
