The driver of a mobile crane involved in a serious collision with the Kyiv-Uzhhorod train in the Lviv region died on the way to the hospital.
This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi in a Facebook post. As for the assistant engineer, he sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including several fractures.
“Depot management is present at the scene to provide all necessary assistance,” Pertsovskyi noted.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that the crane truck driver ignored warning signals and drove onto the railroad crossing, where a collision with the train occurred. The train engineer was killed in the accident. The injured, including the assistant engineer and the crane truck driver, were taken to the hospital.
