Attack on Kyiv: Destruction, Injuries, and Fatalities

On the night of July 2, Kyiv came under attack by the Russian occupation forces. This was reported by “Glavkom,” citing Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Vitali Klitschko stated: “Air defense systems are active in the capital. Two enemy drones have been spotted over the city. Stay in shelters!”

Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, warned: “Air defense units are engaging enemy targets on the outskirts of the capital. Strike drones may continue moving toward the capital. A combined attack cannot be ruled out either. Stay in shelters until the danger has passed!”

At 11:50 p.m. – Klitschko reported that drone debris had fallen near a private home in the Desnianskyi district without causing a fire. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the roof of a three-story non-residential building is on fire. Emergency services are on the scene.

At 11:56 p.m. — Timur Tkachenko noted that a hotel caught fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district as a result of the attack. The roof of the Cityhotel Residence is likely on fire.

At 02:02 a.m. — Vitali Klitschko urged people not to leave their shelters, as Kyiv is under attack from ballistic missiles and drones. Explosions can be heard in the city, and the enemy continues to launch missile strikes on the capital.

At 02:15 — Footage emerged of an attack on a residential building in Kyiv.

Timur Tkachenko reported the destruction of a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district and a fire in a high-rise building in the Holosiivskyi district.

At 02:25 — Klitschko noted that five people were preliminarily reported injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Medical personnel are on the scene.
