Some applicants may be awarded a state-funded spot under special conditions, such as by successfully passing an interview or a creative competition held outside the general admissions process.
Who is eligible for special conditions
Those eligible for such conditions include combat veterans, individuals with war-related disabilities, victims of the Chernobyl disaster, children of fallen defenders, orphans, as well as residents of temporarily occupied territories and combat zones.
Transfer mechanism
Applicants in priority categories who have been admitted on a contract basis may be transferred to vacant state-funded spots. This is possible if all admission campaign rules are followed and there are available spots.
Increase in the number of spots
If the number of applicants eligible for preferential treatment exceeds 30% of the total budget for a program, the college has the right to request additional spots.
However, even with preferential status, the applicant must successfully pass an entrance exam, which may take the form of an interview or a competitive exam.
