As of the morning of August 6, electricity consumption in Ukraine had risen by 1.4% compared to the previous day. From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., there is an urgent need to conserve energy.
According to NPC "Ukrenergo" on its Facebook page, electricity consumption continues to rise. As of 9:30 a.m. on August 6, it exceeded the previous day’s figure, due to abnormally hot weather, which is causing residents and businesses to actively use air conditioners.
"Ukrenergo" emphasizes the importance of conserving energy between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., urging people to postpone energy-intensive activities—such as doing laundry, heating water, and running the dishwasher— to nighttime.
New power outages have also been reported in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions due to Russian attacks. Power companies have already begun restoration work where it is safe to do so.
Power outages are possible only in the event of a prolonged heatwave exceeding 35°, experts note. Although no electricity consumption restrictions are planned, Ukrenergo is urging Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly to avoid accidents caused by equipment overload.
