Radishes remain one of the most affordable early vegetables on the Ukrainian market. Thanks to high supply and a steady harvest pace, the situation in stores and at markets is predictable.
An analysis by UCAB analyst Maksym Hopka, provided to RBC-Ukraine, indicates stability in the radish market. The price for this vegetable currently ranges from 50 to 135 UAH per kilogram.
Market Balance
The supply of radishes is sufficient to meet demand, allowing prices to remain stable. Domestic produce dominates the market, while imports play a minimal role, as Ukrainian farms fully cover the demand.
Forecast for May
Further price declines are expected as open-field produce enters the market. Radishes are a typical example of a spring crop where Ukraine transitions to domestic production as quickly as possible.
Domestic or Imported
On Ukrainian store shelves, radishes are mostly supplied by domestic producers. The expert notes that this is one of the few segments where dependence on foreign supplies is disappearing the fastest.
