Vitaliy Chernyi has been appointed head coach of the Ukrainian women’s 3×3 basketball team for the 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Dakar, Senegal.
Official Appointment
The Ukrainian Basketball Federation announced the decision of the Executive Committee, which approved Chernyi for this position by a majority vote. Dmytro Nevolin will serve as his assistant. The team’s training has already begun and is focused on the summer international season, including the World Championship in Warsaw and the Women’s Series tournaments.
Participation in the Youth Olympics
The Ukrainian U18 women’s national team has already qualified for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Twelve teams will compete in the basketball tournament, which will take place from November 6 to 9.
This important event for young athletes will not only be an opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage but also serve as preparation for future major competitions.
