From May 1 to 3, Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, is hosting the next stage of the 2026 Grand Slam series. According to the International Judo Federation (IJF), 240 athletes from 34 countries have arrived for the tournament.
Representing Ukraine at this prestigious competition are: Artem Lesyuk (up to 60 kg), Vadym Chernov (up to 66 kg), Said-Magomed Khalidov (up to 73 kg), Vladislav Kolobov (up to 81 kg), Artem Bubir (up to 90 kg), as well as Oleksiy Yershov and Zaur Dunyamaliyev (both up to 100 kg).
This Ukrainian team will also compete at the Grand Slam stage in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from May 8 to 10.
Earlier, Ukrainian female judokas won silver and bronze at the Grand Slam stage in Georgia. As a reminder, the World Judo Championships will take place from October 4 to 10 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
