On the night of July 1, Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in Ufa and a military plant in Penza.
According to RBC-Ukraine, citing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Telegram channel, this is the second time Ukraine has carried out precision strikes on an oil refinery in Ufa, one of Russia’s largest producers of lubricants. The plant is located more than 1,300 kilometers from the front line.
In the Penza region, Ukrainian drones struck a strategic facility of the Russian military-industrial complex involved in the development and manufacture of components for missile weapons used by the occupiers to strike Ukraine. This facility is located about 600 kilometers from the front line.
President Zelenskyy emphasized: “Every day, we are carrying out our plan to impose Ukrainian long-range sanctions. This is a just response to everything Russia is doing against us. Peace is needed, and this is precisely what the Russian leadership must realize. Russia must end its war, and it has every opportunity to do so.”
Strikes on Russian Oil Refineries
As a reminder, Ukraine has attacked eight of Russia’s ten largest oil refineries. Some of them have been struck multiple times. On the night of June 28, drones struck an oil refinery in the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. A series of powerful explosions rocked the area around the Slavyansk oil refinery, after which a massive fire broke out at the facility.
