The Georgian national team lost a key player ahead of its match against Ukraine

The Georgian national basketball team has suffered a setback ahead of an important game against Ukraine. One of its key players, Sandro Mamukelashvili, will be unable to participate in the upcoming games against Ukraine and Spain. According to Glavkom, citing Proshuta.basketball, the forward recently became a free agent and has not yet signed a contract with any club.

Due to the lack of a contract, it is impossible to obtain the necessary insurance, which prevents him from playing for the national team.

Another key player on the team, Tornike Shengelia, has already joined training sessions taking place at the Xiaomi Arena in Riga. There are currently 15 players at the Georgian national team’s training camp, from which the coaching staff will select 12 to participate in the match.

The rosters for the match between Ukraine and Georgia, scheduled for July 2, will be announced today, July 1.
