The heir to the Helen Marlen Group fashion empire has passed away

Oleksiy Kavitsky, the son of the founders of the well-known Ukrainian fashion company Helen Marlen Group, has died at the age of 39. This was reported by Glavkom, citing Forbes.

Kavitsky, who headed the e-commerce division at Helen Marlen Group, passed away on March 24, 2026. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Oleksiy was a key figure in the digital transformation of the family business. In 2011, he initiated the implementation of digital technologies across Helen Marlen’s network of premium and luxury stores and has been developing the e-commerce division for nearly 15 years since then.

In 2018, Kavitsky founded the Samsonika project, which became a research and development lab for the Helen Marlen Group. That same year, the Helen Marlen marketplace was launched, unifying the Helen and Baby Marlen websites, as well as the company’s new app.

Founded by Mykhailo and Oksana Kavitsky in 1994, the Helen Marlen Group began as a small shoe boutique that introduced well-known Italian brands to Kyiv. Today, the Helen Marlen Group has over 200 employees and is the official representative of more than 190 global brands, such as Loro Piana, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Gucci, Casadei, Christian Louboutin, Alexander Wang, and Proenza Schouler, of which more than 30 are represented exclusively.

According to data, Ukraine’s largest online retailers earned nearly 40 billion UAH in the first nine months of 2025, with 76% of that revenue coming from the Rozetka corporate group. Among them are specialty stores, including three companies from the top 10 that operate in the pet supplies sector.
