A successful attack was carried out at the “Saki” military airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea. This was reported by “Glavkom,” citing the SBU.
The operation focused on the airfield’s infrastructure, particularly the hangars where fighter jets were housed. Five drone strikes on these hangars, which housed aircraft, have been confirmed.
“According to preliminary data, Su-30 and Su-30SM fighter jets were in two of the hangars at the time of the strike. After the attack, a fire broke out in one of the hangars where the Su-30SM was located, indicating that the target was successfully destroyed,” the statement said.
The SBU emphasized that each of these aircraft is valued at between $30 million and $50 million, depending on the configuration.
As a reminder, the Defense Forces also struck an oil refinery in Ufa and a military plant in Penza. “This is already the second attack on the oil refinery in Ufa—one of Russia’s largest lubricant producers, located more than 1,300 kilometers from the front line,” Zelenskyy said.
Additionally, on the night of July 1, occupied Donetsk was attacked by drones. It is believed that a parking lot for the occupiers’ logistics vehicles was struck.
