Over the past week, Russia has launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying approximately 1,600 attack drones, around 1,100 guided bombs, and three missiles. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on his Telegram channel.
The Threat to Air Defense and the Importance of Sanctions
The President emphasized that with such attacks, Russia is attempting to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense. He stressed that the daily supply of missiles is crucial for effective defense. Zelenskyy also noted that easing sanctions against Russia only helps finance the aggression.
Tragic consequences of the attacks
During one of the FPV drone strikes in Kherson, seven people were injured, two of whom died. The President expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized that all the victims were civilians. Such attacks are likened to a brutal human safari in frontline zones.
Attacks on infrastructure
Strikes were also recorded in Kharkiv, where a drone hit a residential high-rise building, as well as at energy facilities in the Mykolaiv region. The Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson, and Donetsk regions were also affected.
