Czech Prime Minister to meet with Zelenskyy in Yerevan

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš plans to hold brief talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the European Political Community summit in Yerevan. This will be their first face-to-face meeting since Babiš took office.

According to RBC-Ukraine, Babiš noted that he does not plan to visit Ukraine in the near future. However, the possibility of meeting with Zelenskyy in the future at a conference in Poland, where the issue of Ukraine’s recovery will be discussed, has not been ruled out.

Czech Support for Ukraine

Earlier, Andrej Babiš stated that Ukraine would not receive L-159 light combat aircraft from the Czech Republic. This issue sparked political debate in the country regarding the scale and mechanism of providing military aid to Kyiv. Despite this, the Czech Republic remains an important European partner in the search for and procurement of artillery ammunition for Ukraine.

Babiš has repeatedly opposed continuing Czech support in this form, emphasizing the need for clear coordination with European partners.
