Why Russia Is Currently Launching Active Attacks on Ukrainian Ports: An Expert’s Explanation

Ukrainian Black Sea ports have come under intense attack from Russia during the most critical period for farmers. This information is provided in an article by RBC-Ukraine journalist Roman Kot.

Why was this particular moment chosen?

The attacks on shipping coincide with the overall escalation of the conflict this summer, particularly at a critical time for farmers. According to military expert and former press secretary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladislav Seleznyov, the Russians now have additional resources for such strikes.

“I think the Russians have increased their resources for carrying out such attacks. They are using ‘Banderole’ missile drones and ‘Shahed’ rockets more frequently, against which we have limited capabilities to destroy them. Consequently, the enemy is exploiting our weakness,” Seleznyov notes.

The Situation with Ukrainian Ports

Despite constant attacks, the Ukrainian maritime corridor continues to operate, and ports are receiving commercial vessels. According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, Ukraine has not imposed any restrictions on the corridor’s operation.
