Last night, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying more than 150 strike drones of various types. Most of them were shot down by air defense forces.
Details of the attack
According to a report from the Ukrainian Air Force’s Telegram channel, on the night of April 23, the enemy attacked with 155 Shahed-type drones, as well as “Gerbera” and “Italmas” rocket drones. The attacks were launched from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia. About 100 of the drones were Shaheds.
Defense of Ukraine
The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to preliminary data, 139 enemy drones were shot down or neutralized in the north, south, and east of the country this morning. However, 11 strike drones were recorded hitting 9 locations, including the downed targets falling at 4 locations.
"The attack is ongoing; several enemy drones remain in the airspace. Follow safety guidelines," the Air Force reported.
Events in Dnipro
On the night of April 23, Russian troops attacked several regions of Ukraine, particularly in the south, east, and north. Dnipro was particularly hard-hit, with residential buildings damaged as a result of the attack. One of the enemy drones struck a high-rise building, causing fires in several apartments. Reports also emerged of fires involving cars and a store in the city.
