Pentagon says it could take six months to clear the Strait of Hormuz

The U.S. Department of Defense estimates that it will take at least six months to fully clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines.

According to Ukrinform, citing the AP, the Pentagon informed lawmakers of the potential duration of the demining process. This information was presented during a closed-door briefing for the House Armed Services Committee on April 21.

The meeting raised more questions than it answered, as lawmakers sought details on the cost of military action against Iran, as well as the strategy and objectives of the operation. The issue of the strike on a school complex in Iran at the start of hostilities was also raised, a question that remains unanswered.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the participation of Ukrainian military personnel in a conference in London, where ways to unblock the Strait of Hormuz are being discussed.
