The fourth Sunny Bunny Queer Film Festival will take place in Kyiv from April 17 to 24. This event has already become an integral part of the capital’s cultural life.
According to the State Film Agency, this year’s festival has unveiled a revamped visual concept inspired by the image of the “Sunny Bunny.” This symbol embodies openness, dynamism, and freedom.
Short Film Pitching
For the third time, the festival will host a pitching session for LGBTQIA+ short films. Participants may submit feature films, documentaries, animations, or experimental works. The main requirements are a runtime of up to 30 minutes and that the film must be shot in Ukraine or be part of a co-production. Projects must be in the development stage or a work in progress. Applications are being accepted until April 10, and the pitching session will take place on April 23.
Support for Ukrainian Defenders
The Sunny Bunny Festival traditionally supports Ukrainian military personnel. Members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces can attend all festival events free of charge.
The Sunny Bunny Film Festival was founded in 2022 and grew out of a long-standing program of the Kyiv International Film Festival “Molodist.” It is an international event dedicated to LGBTQIA+ films.
