New channel in Germany broadcasts Ukrainian music around the clock

Tetyana Voloshyna, a Ukrainian woman living in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, has launched a 24-hour online radio station in Germany featuring Ukrainian music called Svoe Radio. This was reported by Amal Frankfurt Ukraine, citing Ukrinform.

After the start of the Russian invasion in 2022, Tetiana moved from Kyiv to Germany with her family. She currently works as a kindergarten teacher and teaches at a Ukrainian school in Göttingen. With experience working at major Ukrainian radio stations such as “Melodiya-FM,” Voloshyna decided to create her own radio station in Germany.

Svoe Radio promises to be “Your inspiration and voice in Germany,” broadcasting both well-known hits and music by young artists. The station plays a variety of genres, including pop, pop-rock, indie, as well as English-language songs by Ukrainian artists such as Okean Elzy and The Hardkiss. The main criterion for selecting songs is their ability to evoke a sense of home.

The station is available only to listeners within Germany due to licensing restrictions. The iOS app is already available on the App Store, and the Android version is in the final stages of testing.

Despite the popularity of streaming services like iTunes and Spotify, Tetiana believes that radio plays a special role by providing listeners with a unique experience.
