Large-scale drug production stopped in Prykarpattia region: 165 kg of amphetamine seized

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, law enforcement officials have uncovered and dismantled a criminal group involved in the large-scale production and distribution of narcotics and psychotropic substances. This was reported by "Glavkom," citing Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

According to the Prosecutor General, the group consisted of four local residents: two 18-year-old men, one minor, and their 37-year-old accomplice. They organized the entire drug trafficking operation: from manufacturing to packaging and distribution of the “product” via postal services.

During 24 searches, law enforcement officers seized over 165 kg of amphetamine, cannabis, 99 “ecstasy” tablets, as well as equipment, “black ledgers,” bank cards, phones, and cash in various currencies totaling approximately 1.5 million UAH. Psychotropic substances and weapons (two automatic rifles, three pistols, a pump-action shotgun, grenades with fuses, and a large quantity of ammunition) were also found in the garage of a 37-year-old member of the group.

Three members of the group were detained directly at the drug manufacturing site under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They are suspected of the illegal production and distribution of psychotropic substances, as well as the use of equipment for their manufacture (Parts 2 and 3 of Article 307, Part 2 of Article 313 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The oldest member of the group was detained under Article 615 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He is accused of the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances on an especially large scale (Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion for detention without bail for the adult participants and round-the-clock house arrest for the minor. The investigation is ongoing.
