A museum has opened in North Korea displaying military equipment that Russia claims to have captured during the fighting against Ukraine. This was reported by the publication "Glavkom," citing information from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Officially, the museum is called the Memorial Museum of Military Feats in Overseas Military Operations. Its halls feature various pieces of equipment which, according to the Russian side, were captured on the battlefield in Ukraine. Among the exhibits are Leopard 2A4 and M1A1 Abrams tanks, Marder infantry fighting vehicles, AMX-10RC armored vehicles, VAB armored personnel carriers, as well as vehicles with enhanced mine protection, including Turkish Kirpi vehicles.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un attended the museum’s grand opening alongside Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, who arrived in North Korea as part of a delegation.
According to North Korean media, the museum is dedicated to the participation of the DPRK military in combat operations in Russia’s Kursk region. Construction of the complex was overseen at the highest level, and as early as February 14, 2026, Kim Jong Un personally visited the construction site, inspected the work, and provided instructions regarding the museum’s design. Units of the Korean People’s Army were involved in the creation of the facility.
It is worth noting that Russia and North Korea have agreed on a new defense pact, which will remain in effect until 2031. It is known that high-ranking Russian officials visited Pyongyang to discuss further expansion of military cooperation. In particular, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and the Speaker of the State Duma held talks with North Korean leadership and military officials.
