According to estimates by the Ministry of Defense, 1.6 million people could join the ranks of the army. This would allow for troop rotations, Rishetilova emphasized.
She also added that efforts are currently underway to establish effective communication with those citizens who have distanced themselves from defending the state. "The state is seeking these avenues, and society must remember its responsibility. This is not just a task for the police, the Ministry of Defense, or the Army Command. The media and the civil society sector must contribute to building this communication properly," the ombudsman noted.
Changes to Mobilization in Ukraine
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada is preparing changes to mobilization procedures. MP Fedir Venislavskyi reported that the new rules will provide for broader recruitment of military personnel on a contract basis and a gradual adjustment of existing procedures.
Assessment of Mobilization
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, assessing the current situation, noted that the effectiveness of mobilization can be rated at 6–7 out of 10.
