Law enforcement agencies have launched an active investigation into an incident involving the abduction of people in the Kyiv region, in which servicemen from the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade were involved. The commander of this military unit left his post without authorization, and a search is currently underway to determine his whereabouts.
This was reported by the “North” Operational Command on its official Facebook page.
According to the information, all individuals involved in this case have been suspended from their duties and are actively cooperating with investigative authorities.
Law enforcement officials promise that all possible details that do not hinder the investigation will be made public.
“The ‘North’ Operational Command is providing comprehensive support to law enforcement agencies to ensure the transparency of the investigation. All those involved in illegal activities will be held accountable in accordance with current legislation,” the official statement reads.
According to media reports, on the night of June 28 in the Kyiv region, seven people broke into the yard of two brothers and took them away in an unknown direction. Sources in law enforcement report that nine servicemen from the 155th Brigade, including the battalion commander, have been detained in connection with this incident.
According to data from the Ministry of Defense, since February of this year, Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Luchanov has been the commander of military unit A5001; he previously served as chief of staff of the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelya.”
