Serious damage was reported following the attack on the Saks Thermal Power Plant. The main building of the thermal power plant was completely destroyed by fire; one of the fuel tanks was breached, and the other sustained significant damage.
It is known that, as of now, no smoke is visible coming from the plant’s chimneys, and the plant itself has ceased operations.
On the night of June 28, the facility was attacked; during the attack, 16 explosions were heard, accompanied by flashes of light, which caused a massive fire.
The Saki Thermal Power Plant has an electrical capacity of 149.4 MW and a thermal capacity of 138 Gcal/h, serving as a key source of thermal energy for the city of Saki.
Due to the incident, rolling blackouts have been implemented in the city of Saki and the Saki district.
