Drones attacked ports in the Leningrad Region and a military training ground

How many drones were shot down and where is the damage?

According to preliminary information from the governor, 47 drones were shot down in the region. Later, the number of drones shot down rose to 56, as reported by Drozdzenko.

The governor also confirmed the initial consequences of the attack. According to him, infrastructure facilities were damaged in three locations:

  • at the Luzhsky military training ground;
  • near the port of Ust-Luga;
  • near the port of Vysotsk.

What are these ports, and why were they targeted again?

Ust-Luga is one of Russia’s largest ports on the Baltic Sea, located in the Leningrad Oblast. A significant portion of Russia’s oil and petroleum product exports passes through here.

Vysotsk is another port terminal in the same region, which is also used for transshipping petroleum products and coal. Both facilities have been regularly targeted by drone attacks since March 2026.

Due to the nighttime attack, restrictions on flight arrivals and departures were imposed at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. Some flights have been temporarily delayed.

Other Actions by the Unmanned Systems Forces

Meanwhile, the Unmanned Systems Forces continue a large-scale campaign against the occupiers’ logistical infrastructure. Recently, the Ukrainian military cut power to several energy facilities in occupied Crimea and southern Ukraine.

According to the commander of one of the Unmanned Systems Forces units, 37 power facilities in the temporarily occupied territories were disabled over the course of several days in July.
