A 55-year-old man suspected of attacking a 25-year-old servicemember from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center with a knife was detained in the Vinnytsia region.
According to the Vinnytsia Regional Police, the incident occurred on July 25 on a bypass road near Kalynivka. The suspect, who had failed to comply with military registration requirements, was being transported in a service vehicle for further processing. Inside the vehicle, he pulled out a knife and slashed the serviceman’s arm. The victim received the necessary medical care; hospitalization was not required.
The man was detained, and under the procedural supervision of the Khmilnytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, he was charged under Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violence against a public official or a citizen performing a public duty. The penalty under this article provides for three to five years of restricted freedom or imprisonment. Investigators are continuing to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
