State-of-the-art simulators are being developed in Ukraine to train operators of ground-based robotic systems (GRS). The project is currently in the MVP stage and is scheduled to be unveiled in the near future. This was announced by Igor Belov, founder of the L7 Simulators combat simulator ecosystem, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
Why GRCs Need Simulators
The developers’ main goal is to recreate all the processes of real combat in a virtual environment. This will make it possible to simulate past and future operations to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies. In addition to ground robotics, the ecosystem will also cover other areas:
- electronic warfare (EW);
- artillery;
- support systems for integrating all processes.
L7 Simulators aims to combine training methodology and real combat into a single platform. This will help create standardized training programs and select the best tactical solutions.
“This will not only be a Ukrainian project, but also a global one,” Belov noted. According to him, the development of Ukrainian simulators is based on real-world experience of modern warfare, rather than on outdated protocols from the 1990s. Ukrainian manufacturers and the military are working together as a unified community, where brainstorming sessions are held to drive development.
