For the first time in its history, JSC “Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo” has begun manufacturing 35 kV disconnectors for high-voltage substations. Company CEO Andriy Stasevsky shared this achievement on his Telegram channel.
“35 kV disconnectors are key components for the uninterrupted operation of equipment at substations. Damage to them can lead to power outages, cutting off electricity to thousands or even tens of thousands of consumers,” Stasevsky noted. He emphasized that demand for such equipment is high, and waiting for new shipments can take months.
Since the beginning of August, there have been six attacks on substations in the Zaporizhzhia region—three times more than the average for last year. Although protective structures mitigate the damage, the equipment remains at risk. To restore power more quickly after shelling, power engineers decided to manufacture disconnectors themselves.
“We’ve established the necessary production facilities and developed new design documentation. Yesterday, we successfully tested the first prototype. The next step is mass production,” said Andriy Stasevsky.
