Wreckage from an unmanned aerial vehicle was found near the border between Kazakhstan and Russia, in the Aktobe Region near the village of Alimbet.
According to information received from local residents, the incident occurred in the steppe around 8:30 a.m. Eyewitnesses heard the sound of a crash, followed by an explosion. The incident was likely captured on video.
Fragments of the drone were found approximately 2.5 kilometers from the village. The Aktobe Region police confirmed the discovery of the object and have launched an investigation. “The object was found outside the village. All details of the incident are being clarified,” the police stated.
Authorized services have arrived at the scene and are attempting to determine the origin of the drone and the reasons for its crash. The village of Alimbet is located in the Kargaly district near the border with Russia, close to the city of Orsk, and has a population of about 1,000.
