The Ukrainian Navy struck the launch sites and deployment locations of the Russian “Bastion” missile system in occupied Crimea on the night of August 16.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy on its Facebook page. As a result of the attack, the enemy suffered significant losses in equipment and personnel, though final figures are still being determined.
The “Bastion” system is a scarce and expensive weapon that Russian forces use to fire “Onyx” and “Zircon” missiles at Ukraine’s southern regions.
Ukrainian naval forces are constantly working to reduce the enemy’s combat potential in the Black Sea region.
Combat Casualties of Russian Troops
According to Ukrinform, from the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, through August 16, 2026, the total combat losses of Russian troops amount to approximately 1,467,320 personnel.
