President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded state scholarships to two outstanding Ukrainian athletes: Olympic champion Vita Semerenko and Olympic silver medalist Mykhailo Romanchuk.
According to Ukrinform, Decree No. 453/2026, published on the president’s official website, provides for scholarships commensurate with their achievements. Vita Semerenko, who won gold in biathlon at the XXII Winter Olympic Games, will receive a scholarship equal to four times the minimum subsistence level for able-bodied individuals. Mykhailo Romanchuk, the silver medalist in swimming at the XXXII Summer Olympic Games, will receive a scholarship equal to three and a half times the minimum subsistence level.
It was also previously reported that Zelenskyy awarded scholarships to 218 young writers and artists.
