At the World Ukrainian Summit being held in Switzerland, Ilona Gavronska, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Social Policy for European Integration, appealed to the Ukrainian diaspora to support the country’s current needs. She called for investment in the development of Ukrainian communities, which would facilitate the return of refugees.
According to Ukrinform, this information was published on the website of the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine. During the plenary session “Reconstruction During War: How to Help Ukraine Today,” Ilona Gavronska emphasized the importance of focusing on current needs when providing aid to Ukraine. The government is strengthening the relevant tools for this purpose.
In particular, the Humanitarian Response and Resilience Account was established—a state mechanism that allows countries and international organizations to transfer funds to support precisely those in need in Ukraine.
Ilona Gavronska also noted the importance of supporting Ukrainian communities so that they can serve as reliable partners for internally displaced persons and those returning from abroad.
“Rebuilding Ukraine is first and foremost about people. The state is committed to helping people integrate into new communities and thrive. Infrastructure reconstruction only makes sense if our people are socially reintegrated. We urge our partners to invest in community development,” emphasized Ilona Gavronska.
