Zelenskyy confirmed a successful strike on a military facility in Kirov

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that on July 24, Ukrainian forces struck a key Russian military facility in Kirov. In addition, an oil facility located more than 1,350 km away was hit.

Zelenskyy noted that this facility supplies components for Russian aircraft and missile systems used in attacks on Ukraine. The president called this operation “an absolutely justified response.”

“Our long-range strikes also hit an oil facility at a considerable distance. There have been other strikes as well. The operation is continuing against Russian logistics networks that supply the occupying army with components for drones and navigation equipment,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President expressed his gratitude to all units of the army, intelligence services, and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) that were involved in these operations.

Background

This morning in Kirov, the “Aviatek” company—which specializes in the production of aircraft components and anti-aircraft missiles—was attacked. A fire broke out at the site following the strike, and a large plume of smoke rose above the facility.
