The military ombudswoman identified those responsible for conflicts between civilians and the military

In conflicts that arise between military personnel and civilians, responsibility lies with the government, military and political leadership, and local authorities.

According to Ukrinform, Military Ombudswoman Olga Reshetilova (Kobylinska) made this statement in a Facebook post. She noted that she receives numerous requests for comments and interviews, in which she is constantly asked how it came to be that civilians are attacking military personnel, and who is responsible for this.

“Responsibility for this issue lies with the government, the military and political leadership, and local authorities, who for many years have been unable to strike a balance between economic needs and the needs of the military,” the ombudswoman emphasized.

According to Reshetilova, a complete overhaul of the principles of military service allocation is necessary, and this should be the starting point for mobilization reform. Implementing this requires not only political will but also public support, which is currently lacking.

The ombudswoman also criticized politicians and officials who are exploiting the issue of mobilization for their own gain. In addition, she noted that the media, bloggers, and influencers must recognize their share of responsibility for one-sided reporting.

As previously reported, a clash took place in the Sykhiv district of Lviv between local residents and representatives of the Territorial Mobilization Center, during which dozens of people blocked the road.
