The crews of the Navy’s new mine-countermeasure ships are ready for missions

Some crews of the Ukrainian Navy’s new mine countermeasures ships have completed their evaluations and are ready to carry out their missions. This was announced by Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk.

“Our newly formed mine countermeasures division already consists of five large mine countermeasures ships, and this is just the beginning,” he noted.

Dmytro Pletenchuk emphasized that the crews have completed an extensive training program to adapt to Western-style naval equipment. “Some of these crews are already ready for deployment,” he added.

Due to the Montreux Convention, Ukrainian mine countermeasures ships cannot currently be deployed to the Black Sea, but Ukraine is ready to participate in international operations.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Navy Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday in July to honor the contributions of naval personnel.
