On the night of May 24, another Russian missile and drone attack caused significant damage to the historic and educational buildings of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. This was reported by the university’s press service, according to “Glavkom.”
Despite attempts to destroy Ukrainian culture and educational heritage, the Kyiv-Mohyla community continues to study and work; however, the Academy urgently needs financial and expert assistance for its restoration.
Extent of the damage
Key facilities on the academic campus were damaged as a result of the shelling:
- five university academic buildings;
- the NAUKMA research library;
- the NaUKMA museum;
- the institution’s cultural and arts center.

Preliminary estimates indicate significant costs required for restoration. The roofs, windows, and insulation of the buildings have been damaged, and the premises are littered with glass from broken windows. The Academy is calling for support in fundraising to address the aftermath of the attack.
