Nova Poshta has reduced the free storage period for packages from 7 to 5 days, effective October 1. This decision was announced by the company’s press office.
According to the company, the new storage period is due to the need to enhance security amid ongoing hostile attacks on civilian infrastructure. The less time packages spend at branches, the lower the risk of them being lost or damaged.
Nova Poshta noted that most customers will not notice the changes, as 97% of shipments are picked up within the first five days. The changes apply to the free storage of documents, parcels, cargo, and tires/wheels, while pallets will continue to be stored free of charge for 3 days.
The company also emphasized that Russian attacks on “Nova Poshta” logistics terminals and branches continue, leading to delivery delays. These delays are caused by manual processing of shipments and rerouting.
Furthermore, amid constant shelling, Ukraine’s transportation sector is experiencing a deep crisis, which is negatively impacting the country’s export and import capacity. The state of public finances depends heavily on reliable transportation links.
