National Anti-Corruption Bureau receives materials against nine customs officers

Approximately 14 million hryvnias in customs duties were lost to the state budget.

The State Customs Service has completed an internal audit, uncovering violations of the law by employees of the Lviv Customs Office during customs inspections. This was reported by Glavkom, citing the State Customs Service.

The case involves the import of consumer goods from Poland, such as clothing, footwear, and auto parts, in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025 through the “Smilnytsia–Kroscienko” and “Krakivets–Korchova” border crossing points.

“The investigation found that nine employees of the Lviv Customs Office failed to properly perform their duties. This allowed certain individuals to import some goods into Ukraine without declaring them, which could have generated an additional 14 million hryvnias in customs duties for the budget,” the statement reads.

Materials indicating possible criminal offenses have been forwarded to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine for legal assessment.

“One of the main tasks for strengthening the institutional capacity of the customs service is the effective fight against corruption. Integrity must become the primary standard for personnel renewal within the Service, and any instances of misconduct or abuse are subject to evaluation by law enforcement agencies,” noted Orest Mandziy, Head of the State Customs Service.
