On Tuesday, September 22, at 12:49 p.m., an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale occurred in the Machukhiv community, near Poltava. According to the Main Center for Special Monitoring, it was recorded at a depth of three kilometers and is classified as a moderate earthquake.
Experts urged local residents who felt the tremors to share their experiences via a special link.
Several earthquakes have already occurred in the Poltava region this year. In particular, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 was recorded near Dykanka in May.
Also, on June 22, five earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 3.3 to 4.2 occurred simultaneously off the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
By comparison, Indonesia recently experienced a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that killed at least 38 people.
