In Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, an object resembling a drone fell onto the roof of a high-rise building. This information was reported by Glavkom, citing the country’s police.
A local resident reported the suspicious object, after which specialists from the bomb squad arrived at the scene. The area was cordoned off for a safety check.
For safety reasons, residents of the upper floors were temporarily evacuated. Preliminary data indicates that the object was damaged upon impact with the roof.
Experts are continuing their investigation to determine the origin and potential threat. Police are investigating the details of the incident.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Moldova has recorded numerous violations of its airspace by Russian missiles and drones. Incidents have occurred in various regions, including Transnistria, where fragments of drones carrying explosives have frequently been found.
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly summoned Russian diplomats to discuss security risks, systematically documenting these events.
As a reminder, Moldova is demanding compensation from Russia for damage to the Isaccha-Vulcanesti power line, which resulted from a Russian attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. An official diplomatic note will be sent once repair work is completed.
