Jeff Bezos is teaching artificial intelligence to design rockets

The American tech startup Prometheus is working on creating a new class of artificial intelligence capable of automating the entire design and manufacturing cycle in heavy industry. This ambitious project is led by billionaire Jeff Bezos.

According to RBC-Ukraine, citing TechCrunch, instead of yet another chatbot for generating text or images, the Prometheus team is creating an intelligent system known as an “artificial general engineer.” It is a software platform that can independently create digital drawings, conduct simulations, and prepare complex technical objects—such as rocket components or aircraft engine blades—for production.

An innovative approach to design

Instead of using traditional neural networks, which operate solely on statistical patterns, the Prometheus platform integrates the fundamental laws of physics, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and chemistry. This allows AI not only to design parts but also to calculate their strength, material resistance, and behavior under extreme loads. This approach replaces months of computer testing and the work of entire engineering teams.

Future Prospects

Through this innovative project, Jeff Bezos and his team are revolutionizing the design and manufacturing industry, opening up new opportunities for technological advancement in heavy industry.
