Germany declared the deputy military attaché at the Russian Embassy in Berlin persona non grata following the arrest of Ilona V., a German citizen of Ukrainian origin. Authorities suspect her of spying for Russian intelligence agencies since 2023. Following her arrest, her handler from the embassy was forced to leave Germany.
